There will be a Survivor-like poll for Best Picture (a few films get voted off each week) with YOU as the decider. Which battle would you like to see done in the near future?
For me there is only one decade in cinema (an exaggeration, but close to the point). The decade I was born in, the 70’s, had the best mix of weird, wacky and wonderful, think: Two-lane Blacktop, Five Easy Pieces, Harold & Maude, Jaws, Taxi Driver, The Last Detail, Bound For Glory, The Godfather, Part II, The Conversation, Halloween, The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3, Minnie and Moskovitz, Quadrophenia, Mean Streets, Star Wars, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Alien, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Dirty Harry, Serpico, Deliverance, Frenzy, The Tenant, Phantom of the Paradise, The Last Picture Show, The Passenger, Badlands, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Zabriskie Point, Network, Sleeper, Manhattan, Rocky, Dog Day Afternoon, The Deer Hunter, Performance, Apocalypse Now, The Enigma of Kasper Hauser. To name but a few.
Wow. Great list! If the 70s win, all those movies will go into the poll.
I voted 70s because I think it was the flux decade of cinema. And Rohan really put it best. Great idea man.
I stole it from officetally.com (which does a best of season Survivor for the TV series The Office), but thanks!
Just wanted to let y’all know that the 70s seem to be running away with it, and that the poll will close on Monday the 26th of September.
