2009 Marathon Awards
by George Watches Things
Today, I’ll be naming a few bests from my/our festival of 2009 films. I didn’t get around to seeing all of them (Precious, Avatar, and Sin Nombre are among my regrets), but you get what you get and you can’t throw a fit. At least according to my kindergarten teacher.

Agree with your choices. The Hurt Locker was my favorite of the year too.
Brilliant choice. Loved both The Hurt Locker and Inglorius Basterds.
inglourious basterds is a very under-rated film . . . it really showed how much differently tarantino can make movies
You picked some winners here!
I loved Inglourious Basterd; it was an instant classic!
I agree about that scene in the hurt locker, hit home for me as well. I preferred Inglorious Basterds though, the first scene in the house and the scene in the underground bar are two instant classics. I wouldn’t worry too much about missing Sin Nombre, I was quite disappointed by it.
Great list :)
